Meet The Team

Learn a bit about us. Read up on the bios of the senior development team.

Stephen Young

Managing Director

Stephen’s career in IT started back in the 80s as a consultant working with early PC networks and data communications as well as developing software applications for various clients. This came after an apprenticeship and five years of studying electrical and electronic engineering which was started as the groundwork to becoming a pilot. With fixed wing jets never materialising, his career in IT was cemented, which he then undertook in earnest establishing two successful IT companies.

Throughout the 90s and early 00s Stephen ran these, one focused on consultancy, service and support and the other a data communications and hosting centre. During this time Stephen maintained a team of software developers writing bespoke software, integration applications and interfaces. Off-track, his passion for all things fast manifested again with cars and bikes and outings to the race track to test his nerve.

In 2011 Stephen successfully sold his two IT companies and, working with his team of developers, realised his passion and returned to his roots as a software developer. However, nerves of steel did not prevail and success has not found its way to the racetrack; so alongside his vintage Top Gun flying suit now rest his crash helmet and racing leathers…for now!

Daniel Case

Software Development Team Leader

After finishing College and University, Daniel joined a small media company in the heart of London. For several years he headed up the web team working with large media and property organisations. These included Associated Newspapers, FPD Savills, Foxton’s and Boden. The early years working in London were a great experience for Dan allowing him to hone his skills and Dan fully embraced the vibrancy of Central London and the environment.

A change of direction took Daniel into the financial services industry; far more serious. Working with a team of developers he undertook projects for large household names, include Aviva and Hiscox. Taking a lead on an integration project, he successfully delivered a product that integrated SSP’s Sirius application with real-time data being captured by gocompare.com and moneysupermarket.com, allowing agents to better handle and close potential sales.

Daniel joined the Element3 team in 2009 and since joining he has been heavily involved in developing our products including SAMS, our KPI call reporting products, myHA Tenant Portal as well as refining our internal processes. We suspect that Dan harps back to his early years working in a reveling Central London which saddles him with a distinctive style and excessive dry cleaning bills.

Leigh Mumford

Senior Software Developer

Despite being the youngest member of the team, Leigh has an extensive skill set absorbed from his experience working in software development, including the latest web and mobile technologies and established desktop technologies.

Leigh’s early working career was as a store manager for a well known fast food burger chain which kept him fed whilst he studied and honed his software skills. Whilst extremely successful at shifting burgers the lure of software development prevailed and he hung up his apron to pursue his aspirations.

Looking for a new challenge, in 2008 he moved on to lead a team of developers at a print and facilities management company. The goal was to build systems to compliment and support the company’s range of print and procurement management services, whose clients included Ford Motor Company, Haven Hospices and the local Council. These systems included a web-to-print platform for creation and production of custom artwork such as business cards and brochures.

In 2010 Leigh became a member of the Elemet3 development team. Since joining he has been heavily involved in the design and development of key products including SAMS and our KPI call reporting products and various CMS driven websites for our customers.

We are still trying to get Leigh to forget his formative working years which has heavily influenced his dress sense.

Mário Patrão

Software Developer

Mário moved to London from Portugal to be the latest member in Element3’s team as a web developer. Since May he’s been “teaching Portuguese” to the team; so far they’ve mastered ‘obrigado’.

Previously he worked as a software developer for 2 years at Planeta Virtual in his home town of Porto. While in Portugal, Mário wrote code for a different number of projects such as Windows applications, websites and his latest work was on the TakeaCity portal. He specialises in .net development, database design and has a passionate interest in web design.

Inspired by historical Portuguese explorers Mario decided to set sail and conquer his own new worlds. Mario set his sights on England to conquer a new chapter in is life; he’s now based in London but fortunately refrains from the customary pillaging of his forefathers.
